First Truth (Audio)

First Truth (Audio) - Dawn Cook, Kim Harrison, Marguerite Gavin I wasn't sure what to make of this book after reading all the Hollow's series and this book is so different. The writing style seems different and it was all just not what I've come to expect from Kim Harrison regardless if she was writing under a different name.

The story was rather complex and at times explained too much but it all seemed to flow and didn't really lose track or get boring, The information written was always relevent to the story at the time it took place. However I did find the world created for this series to be lacking, I understand that the main focus was the mythical Hold but still the Hold was still part of the world created and at times I just found the background was passed over.

Alissa was, has with all Kim Harrison's leading ladies a strong, head strung, independent, stubborn women who never asks for help or listens to advise untill it's too late. I found her a breath of freash air she was a likeable character and you felt as though you were living everything with her, I did at times find her petulent behaviour to be annoying but she was well written that that could be forgiven.

Strell was annoying from the get go. He was well written and I liked how him and Alissa bounced of each over but he had a knight in shinning armour complex which I find annoying.

The other 2 characters weren't that big in this book has it seemed to be building the chaacters of Alissa and Strell mainly while preparing you for what was to come.

My main issue with this book is that i have all 4 in audio version and I don't like the women doing the reading, I think thats 1 of the main reasons am not keen on Strell, the stupid accent she doe's.

All in all it was a good book andwell written and layed out
